Dark, warm and open late
Last Call
Last Call is for businesses that do their best work after the sun goes down. Headlines are set in a high-contrast italic Didone, text glows in candle colours on oxblood, bottle green or smoke, and thin brass rules divide the page. Every photograph is graded toward lamplight, and the whole page slowly deepens toward black as a visitor scrolls, the way a room does late in the evening. Your hours sit large at the top, where regulars look for them.

01 / Character
How Last Call looks and reads
- A high-contrast italic Didone for headlines, with a clean grotesque for reading
- Candle-coloured text on dark oxblood, bottle green or smoke, plus one light palette
- Thin brass rules and dotted leaders where other themes use boxes
- Photographs graded toward warm lamplight, and a page that deepens as it scrolls
How the page flows
Last Call reads best when the dark ground carries most of the page and the lighter sections are rare. Open on a full-bleed photograph with your hours beside the headline, give the menu or services the colour field, and save the candle-light section for a guest's words.
02 / Fit
Businesses that suit it
- Cocktail bars, wine bars and speakeasies
- Restaurants, steakhouses and supper clubs
- Barbers and tattoo studios
- Jazz rooms and late-night venues
03 / Features
Features

Openings with the hours beside them
A full-bleed photograph in lamplight, an italic headline with a brass underline, and the hours set large.

Menus with brass leaders
Short names on dotted brass leaders keep a drinks list or a service menu easy to scan in low light.

Quotes in italic Didone
A guest's words set large in the italic, with their name in small brass capitals underneath.
04 / Make it yours
Shape the mood around your brand

- Oxblood is the default. Smoke is charcoal with amber, Bottle Green is deep green with brass, and Linen is a light palette with oxblood buttons.
- Use the contrast palette once per page. The dark theme gets its drama from one bright section, not several.
- The last word of each hero headline gets a drawn brass underline. Keep the headline to a few words so the underline lands on the one that matters.
05 / Every screen
Clear, comfortable, and easy to use
- Text on every dark ground is a warm light tone chosen to stay easy to read, and brass is only used for rules, buttons and small labels.
- The page's slow deepening on scroll only darkens the dark grounds, so light text gains contrast as it goes. It stops for visitors who ask for reduced motion.
- The phone menu covers the whole screen with large page names, and every page stays one tap away.
06 / FAQ
Last Call questions
- Does the page change as visitors scroll?
- Yes. The dark grounds deepen a few shades toward black between the top and the bottom of the page, and the hero photograph drifts slowly as it leaves. Visitors who turn on reduced motion, or sites that set motion to off, see the still colours.
- Does Last Call have a light option?
- Yes. Linen sets dark ink on warm paper with oxblood buttons. The other three palettes are dark.
- Can I show my opening hours at the top?
- Yes. Add figures to the hero, such as when the kitchen opens and when the bar closes, and Last Call sets them large beside the headline.
